The Last Few Weeks
The last few weeks have been very hectic for my family and I. Prior to the earthquake in Haiti; my family was in the process of adopting two little girls from Haiti. I am now proud to say that I am an older brother to two little girls: Tia and Naika. Other than the earthquake, my normal teenage life was also a little hectic with try-outs, auditions, and trying to write music. I received the part of Lefou (Gaston’s Little Side-Kick) in my school play, Beauty and the Beast. The play has definitely helped me get through the times of the earthquake. Finally, I have been spending a lot of time writing some new songs.
My two new adopted sisters are the most amazing fit for my family. Tia is not afraid to run up to anybody and Naika will start a conversation with anyone (in Creole of course). I am so happy they are finally home and I can’t wait until they get used to being a part of my family. If any of you don’t know about them I will continue to update about them in the days to come.
Beauty and the Beast is such a fun play to be a part of. I am so excited for the play because all of the costumes are extremely real looking. On the other hand if you have ever seen the movie there are parts that are exactly the same as the movie and others that are completely different. My part, Lefou, is Gaston’s partner who tries to help Gaston hook up with Belle. Sadly in the end I fail miserably and a dresser beats me up. Even though I am a failure I still love my part and enjoy playing it.
My new songs are mostly focused on letting kids know that no matter what anyone else says follow your dreams. Some of my new songs include: Almost Goodbye, I’ve been waiting for this moment, and This is how I’ll do it. All of these songs should be available shortly after I can get some time in the studio to record them.
I hope you understand what has been going on in my life for the past few weeks. It’s been a little crazy and I’m hoping to spend more time on the blog in the days to come.
